At Southerly Homes, we believe a home is more than four walls and a roof; it is the foundation of a thriving community. While we are passionate about building quality homes for families across Central Texas, we are equally committed to supporting the people, organizations, and causes that make our communities stronger.
Giving back has always been a core part of who we are. Whether it’s helping local families meet basic needs or volunteering our time and resources, we believe meaningful community involvement creates lasting impact. This year, the Southerly Homes team is proud to support two incredible organizations making a difference right here in Central Texas: HomeAid Austin and Flatwater Foundation’s Dam That Cancer.
Supporting Local Families Through Builders for Babies
One of the most immediate and essential needs for young families is access to diapers. Yet for many parents facing financial hardship, purchasing enough diapers each month can be a significant challenge. That’s why Southerly Homes is proud to support the 2026 Builders for Babies Diaper Drive, an annual initiative hosted by HomeAid Austin in partnership with the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin’s Professional Women in Building Council and H-E-B. The drive brings together builders, developers, industry partners, and community members to collect diapers and baby essentials for local families experiencing housing insecurity, poverty, or other difficult circumstances. Every donation stays within the Central Texas community and helps organizations serving families in need.
How You Can Help
A single package of diapers can make a meaningful difference for a family in need. Community members can contribute by donating diapers, wipes, and other baby essentials through the Builders for Babies campaign. To learn more or make a donation, visit the Builders for Babies Diaper Drive page. Every diaper donated helps a local child and eases the burden on families working toward a brighter future.
Paddling for a Purpose: Flatwater Foundation’s Dam That Cancer
Community support extends beyond physical needs. For individuals and families facing cancer, emotional and mental health support can be just as critical as medical treatment.
This June, Southerly Homes proudly supports our founder Nick Quijano as he participates in Flatwater Foundation’s annual Dam That Cancer paddle event here on Lake Austin.
The organization provides therapy grants that cover the cost of counseling for cancer patients, caregivers, and family members. By removing financial barriers, Flatwater helps individuals find support, resilience, and hope during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Now in its 17th year, Dam That Cancer brings together hundreds of paddlers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters to raise funds for mental health services for people affected by cancer.
For Nick, this year’s paddle carries special meaning.
“This will be my third year participating, and it’s become something deeply personal to me,”
“Flatwater Foundation provides access to mental health therapy at no cost for individuals and families navigating cancer. It’s an incredible organization doing meaningful work for people who truly need it.”
Participants paddle 21 miles on Lake Austin, raising awareness and funding for counseling services that help families cope with the emotional challenges cancer often brings.
Building Stronger Communities Together
At Southerly Homes, community service is not a one-time event or donation, it’s a reflection of our values and mission to give back to the community we serve. We are proud to support organizations that strengthen families, provide critical resources, and create meaningful change throughout Central Texas. We invite our homeowners and future homeowners, partners, and neighbors to join us in supporting these remarkable organizations. Together, we can make a difference that extends far beyond the homes we build.
